SIPOA Wins "Most Unique Vehicle" in City Christmas Parade
It was a brisk 50 degrees with a slight wind when the Irving Christmas Parade began on December 5th. There was excitement in the air.
Christmas Carols were being played and sung and children were scampering to collect candy that was thrown from cars and floats. People were
wishing each other Merry Christmas. It was just plain fun! And to top it off, SIPOA won a beautiful plaque for the "Most Unique Vehicle".
Kenny Hernandez, the SIPOA Special Events Chairman displays the Most Unique Vehicle Prize.
Kenny Hernandez did an amazing job coordinating this event from locating the tractor to pull the plane, getting the truck and trailer for the
float, and gathering the candy, decorations and volunteers. Thanks to all who participated. This is a great way to get the SIPOA name before
the public. It is not too early to start thinking about how you might be able to participate in the 4th of July Parade and Flag Caper.
Merry Christmas to All!

Five new board members take office in January
SIPOA Board Members serve a two year term. Each year half (5) of the Board must rotate off to be replaced by five newly
elected Board Members. This change takes place each January. At the recent SIPOA Public Information Meeting, eight nominees were
announced to the membership. Emails were also sent out with the names of the nominees and phone calls were made to those without email
access. The election was November 16th with early voting from November 3rd. The results are in and the following SIPOA Members have been
elected to the Board of Directors: Robert Corser, Becky Craig, Roy Getting, Doug Harper and Marilyn Wilson. Roy Getting and Doug
Harper were re-elected to there current Board positions. Edna Garcia, Rosann Alexander, and Linda Fisher chose not to run again for their
Board positions. We need to thank each of them for their service. If you want to send them a thank you note, send it to
board@southirvingpoa.org.
You can also send a note of encouragement to Robert Corser, Becky Craig, and Marilyn Wilson at the same email address.
